President Jokowi firmly requested that the legal apparatus could thoroughly investigate the cooking oil mafia.

The Head of State views that currently cooking oil is still a problem in the community even though the government has provided subsidies for cooking oil BLT. The President hopes that the price of cooking oil, which is currently high, can return to near normal.
“We want the price to be closer to normal. So the price is indeed high, why? Prices outside, international prices are very high, so the tendency for producers to want exports is indeed high outside,” he said.
The government itself has made various efforts to overcome this cooking oil problem, including through various policies such as setting the highest retail price (HET) for bulk cooking oil and subsidies to producers. However, the President sees that the policy has not been effective in recent weeks.
“In the market, I see that there is a lot of bulk oil that is not in accordance with the HET that we have set, meaning that there is indeed a game,” he said.
