The flight, operated by Rio Branco Aerotaxi airline, took off from Jordao at 12.30 before landing at 14.00 local time.
According to one of the passengers, the door opened because one of the supporting cables had been cut. He said another passenger got up, along with a man. They join forces to close the door.
Even so, the other passengers seemed very calm despite the dangers on the plane.
A spokesman for Rio Branco Aerotaxi told local media the incident was referred to CENIPA, the country’s Center for Aviation Accident Investigation and Prevention. Now the plane has been repaired and is ready to fly again.
