Head of the Surabaya City Transportation Service (Dishub) Tundjung Iswandaru in Surabaya, Thursday (21/4/2022) stated that in commemoration of Kartini Day this time, Dishub employees to drivers and officers on the Suroboyo Bus wore kebaya and batik clothes.
“This is to appreciate the young Kartini in the City of Heroes,” he said.
Taking the Suroboyo Bus, prospective passengers do not need to spend money, they only need to pay with five medium-sized plastic bottles, three large plastic bottles, 10 glasses of mineral water, plastic bags and plastic packaging.
Tundjung Iswandaru said that this Kartini Day commemoration activity was routinely held because the figure of Raden Ajeng Kartini always inspired great women in the city of Surabaya.
In addition to instilling the spirit of struggle and gender equality of RA Kartini, the Transportation Agency also has female drivers who operate the Suroboyo Bus.
“Women are also involved in an important profession that was unthinkable before, namely the only female driver of the Suroboyo Bus,” said Tundjung Iswandaru.
