Persib Bandung has released 12 players and only brought in four new players. The number of players leaving coincided with the expiration of the contracts of more than 20 players on March 31, 2022.

Director of PT Persib Bandung Dignity, Teddy Tjahjono, admitted that many players were recommended by the coach to be retained. Unfortunately, the player prefers to leave.

“Something that is normal in the dynamics of professional football,” said Teddy, Tuesday (19/4/2022). “If the player’s contract expires, even though the club wants to keep the player, but if the player in question has other plans regarding his professional career, then we will definitely support and wish you the best.”

Of the 12 players, only Esteban Vizcarra and Bruno Cantanhede were not recommended by the coach. The rest chose to leave even though only Gian Zola Nasrulloh and Indra Mustafa had new clubs.

“The initial plan was about 7-9 players being released,” said Teddy.

Persib is currently still in the negotiation process for players whose contracts have been completed. Until Tuesday (19/4/2022), it was only Beckham Putra Nugraha and Febri Hariyadi who were confirmed to have extended their contracts.

“Yes, usually the dynamics of professional football, players come and go,” said Teddy.
