Hunted Out of Town, Soto Sangka is Less Popular in Banyumas

1NEWS – Soto Sangka, which has been around since 1925, is a legendary culinary delight in Banyumas, Central Java.

Although the shape of the shop is simple, the parking lot is always filled with customers’ vehicles from various parts of the area.

Ahmad Basuki, the third generation owner of Soto Sangka, said that Soto Sangka is mostly visited by visitors from outside the region.

“Many come from Banjarnegara, Wonosobo, Cilacap, Purbalingga, and so on,” said Basuki to 1NEWS, Sunday (8/5).

Basuki said that his customers purposely come to his stall almost every weekend.

“So, it’s kind of like a vacation. Maybe culinary tourism,” he added.

Basuki said most of them were old customers.

“There are those who come with their grandfathers because they used to be customers here. Yes, until they have children, their children eat here too,” he said.
