A photo that is considered to show the arrogance of a cyclist has gone viral for days. If you still remember, there was a viral photo showing a group of cyclists in Jakarta that filled almost all motorized lanes. Not only that, they are considered arrogant because they don’t seem to give way to a motorcyclist.
Apparently, the same thing happened again. This time, it was not motorbikes, but a group of rollerblading users gliding down the capital’s highways. This incident was recorded on a video which was then widely spread in cyberspace and became viral.
Roller skaters slide down the highway
A video shows some rollerblading users using part of a highway in Jakarta. The roller skaters drove irregularly and made the motorized vehicle behind them seem to slow down. The sound of horns sounded, but roller skaters seemed unmoved.
They are judged arrogant and will be reprimanded
Responding to the video that went viral on Sunday (8/5/2022), DKI Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria said that the group of roller skaters was very arrogant. They use facilities that are not intended for them to the detriment of many people. Riza said on his Twitter account that his party would follow up on this incident.
Likewise with the police who will reprimand the roller skaters. The Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya Kombes E Zulpan said that the highway is not a track for rollerblading. They can annoy other road users as well as endanger themselves.

Because of this incident, the Chairman of the Indonesian Rolling Skate Sports Association (Perserosi) DKI Jakarta Province Muhammad Sal apologized to road users who were disturbed as well as to the Governor and Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta.
