“Here are Tuchel’s comments after the game.”

1NEWS – In the Premier League match between Chelsea vs Wolves on Saturday (7/5/2022), Thomas Tuchel’s squad were held to a 2-2 draw despite playing at home.

The Blues failed to grab three points in securing a top 3 position in the Premier League standings this season. Although Chelsea had taken the lead through Romelu Lukaku’s two goals, Francisco Trincao and Conor Coady could reply to that advantage. The score 2-2 makes the position of the Blues threatened in the big three.

The draw made it seem like the Blues had difficulty ending the season. They have won just two of their previous seven league outings and they are still not sure of a top four finish.

In fact, if they manage to overcome Wolves, the Blues can actually secure a ticket to the Champions League next season.

However, Wolves produced a stunning counter-attack. Trincao pulled one back with 10 minutes remaining before Coady equalized in the 90+7 minute.

Of course it was a bad day for everyone involved with Chelsea. The Blues supporters must be disappointed because their blue team failed to win.

Chelsea’s failure to gain maximum numbers to hit a Chelsea steward. How not, when he was on duty to secure the fans from entering the field. He fell victim to Kai Havertz’s hard kick.

The fieldworker was sitting near the goal and looking at the crowd. However, he was always in danger of being hit by a stray shot – and that’s exactly what happened.

Havertz was the culprit as his shot went wide of goal. The hard ball that was targeted hit the Chelsea steward’s ribs, making him instantly roll over in pain.

Wolves goalkeeper Jose Sa then checked the steward’s condition as he picked up the ball nearby.
We shouldn’t laugh at seeing the officer fall victim to Havertz’s hard kick, but it’s really hard not to.

The video of the incident has since gone viral on social media and has been met with reactions from football fans.

After the match, Tuchel admitted the result felt like a defeat. “Of course,” replied Tuchel when asked the question.

“I think we started both halves well with a 5-3-2 attack. We know about the risks and we have to be disciplined. We showed discipline for most of the first half, but in some situations we took too many risks,” said the German tactician.

“It cost us a dangerous moment at the end of the first half and we were unlucky not to score. We reminded the players at half-time to stick to the plan. I’m very happy with the way we started the second half. We created enough chances and situations to get in front, but we were 2-0 up and then we took too many risks.”

Now, Chelsea collected 67 points from 35 matches. They are ranked 3rd in the Premier League standings. Thomas Tuchel’s men are only four points clear of Arsenal, who have only played 34 times.

With three games remaining, Chelsea must win while hoping their rivals slip in order to stay in the top three or four in order to appear in the Champions League next season.
