The 2022-2023 Liga 1 pre-season match between Persis Solo and Persebaya Surabaya is said to be a venue for the return of spectators to the stadium.
Persis Solo is scheduled to undergo a trial match against Persebaya Surabaya on May 22, 2022.
This friendly match was held to celebrate the 729th anniversary of the City of Surabaya.
The duel of the two Liga 1 contestants will take place at the Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium, Surabaya.
The good news is that the organizing committee plans to bring spectators to the match.
Persebaya manager, Yahya Alkatiri, hopes that this match can be a moment for supporters to return to the stadium.
As is known, almost two years of football in the country taking place without spectators due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
“First of all, we work hard so that this game can really be a turning point (homeland football with spectators), that’s the most important thing,” said Yahya Alkatiri, quoted by Bolanas from the East Java Tribune.
“I am sure that Panpel’s friends will maximize it.”
“We also hope for the prayers and support of all parties,” he added.
However, Yahya could not confirm the quota of spectators allowed to enter the stadium.
Especially the quota for the home team’s supporters, which is predicted to explode.
Yahya reported that so far his party is still planning a scheme for the attendance of 100 percent of the audience at GBT.
“We can’t confirm the numbers yet,” said Yahya.
“Because we also have to know how much we get, whether it’s full 100 percent of capacity, 75 percent, or 50 percent, until now it’s 100, wait for developments in the next few days.”
“The quota is usually less than a week from the match, depending on the status of the PPKM area,” Yahya explained.
This event is also an opportunity for Persebaya to test its new players.
The squad nicknamed Bajul Ijo held their first practice at the ABC Gelora Bung Tomo Field on Monday (9/5/2022).
A total of 32 players have participated in the Persebaya training led by coach Aji Santoso.
Aji Santoso highlighted the physical condition of players who had not practiced regularly for more than 30 days.
“Yes, of course the conditions are not ideal, because there is no exercise during the fasting month. Independent training is also just to maintain the condition. But that’s normal,” Aji said, quoted from the club’s official website.
“I also said they were not too full first. Because they haven’t practiced in a long time. The muscle condition is not ready. This was just light training,” he added.
Therefore, he and his coaches will temporarily focus the program on restoring physical condition.
The intensity of training will be increased at least in the next few weeks.
“This week’s training will be twice as much, combined with fitness. Three times a week,” said Aji.
