A plane crashes in a forest in central Cameroon on Wednesday (11/5). The plane was reportedly carrying 11 people.

Cameroon’s Ministry of Transport said air traffic controllers “lost radio contact with the plane”. After that, signals picked up the plane “in the woods” near Nanga Eboko, about 150 kilometers (90 miles) northeast of the capital Yaounde.

A ministry official who declined to give his name said the plane “downed” and rescuers were “trying to see if it was possible to save anyone”.

The ministry has not published the type and brand of the plane that crashed. It is known that the plane was flying from Yaounde-Nsimalen airport to Belabo, eastern Cameroon.
