1NEWS, The government is currently still carrying out the Implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) even though the Covid-19 number has subsided. This is still being done as a measure to anticipate the spread of COVID-19 after the 2022 Eid holiday.
The Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil, responded to the extension of the Central Government’s implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM). Kang Emil, as he is familiarly called, said that PPKM will always exist until the declaration of a pandemic towards endemic has been carried out.
“The PPKM will exist forever until the pandemic is declared endemic. However, there will be a lot of adjusting allowances in it,” said Kang Emil, Wednesday (11/5/2022).
Kang Emil also stated that his party would continue the direction of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to all regional heads in West Java regarding the extension of the PPKM which will last until May 23, 2022.
Even though the PPKM was extended, Kang Emil continued, he still allowed residents to carry out activities without any burden. Even so, he appealed to continue to apply health protocols with discipline.
“That’s why I heard the President’s direction from everyone, please do your activities, most importantly wear a mask,” he said.
According to Kang Emil, currently West Java residents are being given a bit of relaxation in the Covid-19 regulations because the pandemic situation is sloping. Even so, he will continue to anticipate by giving appeals to the public to pay attention to health protocols and apply them with great discipline.
“So we will do this (relaxed) by wearing masks, but when the endemic arrives, they are not used,” he concluded.
