“Come on, Indonesia, keep adding the 2021 SEA Games gold medals!”

1NEWSIndonesian Rowing Team add two gold medal on SEA Games 2021 Vietnam which took place at the Hai Phong Canoeing and Rowing Training Center, Vietnam, Friday (13/05/2022).

After dominating the lightweight man’s four final, rowing Indonesia was again fastest in the lightweight man’s quadruple scull event.

Ali Mardiansyah, Kakan Rusmana, Ihram, and Ardi Isedi contributed their fourth gold rowing after defeating Vietnam, the Philippines, Thailand and Cambodia in today’s final.

Ali and his friends shot to a 6-second lead over the host team Vietnam, who finished second with a record time of 6 minutes 34 seconds. The Philippines was in third place and won bronze after recording a time of 6 minutes 46 seconds.

Meanwhile in the women’s category, Julianti Chelsea Corputty was only able to contribute silver in the women’s pair (W2-) after being 9 seconds behind the Vietnamese representative who finished first in 8 minutes 11 seconds.

The same goes for the lightweight women’s quadruples scull. Melani Putri, Mutiara Rahma, Anggi Widiarti, and Nurtang had to settle for silver, which again had to lose to the home team who finished the fastest with a time of 7 minutes 11 seconds or 7 seconds adrift.

With these results, the Indonesian rowing team is currently leading the medal standings for the SEA Games rowing sport with a collection of four gold and four silver medals. Red and White still have the opportunity to add to their collection of gold in the final final which will take place on Saturday.

Vietnam is in second place in the standings with four gold, two silver and two bronze.
