Persib Bandung held a meeting at Graha Persib, Jalan Sulanjana, Bandung City, Monday (16/05/22), ahead of the first training session to face the 2022-2023 Liga 1 competition.

According to Persib coach, Robert Rene Alberts, at the meeting his party only provided information about the program prepared to prepare for the competition.

On that occasion, the majority of local players were present including Fitrul Dwi Rustapa, David Rumakiek and Eriyanto.

Meanwhile, Marc Klok, Ricky Kambuaya and Rachmat Irianto are currently joining the U-23 Indonesian National Team and Kakang Rudianto and Ferdiansyah have received calls to join the U-19 Indonesia National Team.

The only foreign player present on the occasion was Nick Kuipers, while the rest, namely Ciro Alves and David da Silva, had not yet joined the Maung Bandung squad.

“Earlier this only provided information to the players, because we will start training and the players must know how the plans we have prepared,” said Robert Alberts when met at Graha Persib, Jalan Sulanjana, Bandung City, Monday (16/05/22).

The former PSM Makassar coach added that Persib will hold a meeting again next week, to further discuss the team’s preparations.

“Only next week, on the 23rd, there will be an official meeting, because today is just providing information,” said Robert Alberts.

Previously, the activities of the Persib team were closed for about six weeks, after the end of the 2021-2023 Liga 1 season. The majority of players chose to return to their respective hometowns.

According to Robert Alberts, after a long period of not training, his team are very enthusiastic to return to training together to prepare for the 2022-2023 Liga 1 season, which is planned to be held at the end of July 2022.

“But I see all the players are ready,” said Robert Alberts.

Robert Alberts ensured that the players who trained together were in good health, because the Maung Bandung squad carried out an antigen test, to ensure that no one was exposed to Covid-19.

“We’re also doing an antigen test today to make sure everyone can start training tomorrow,” explained Robert Alberts.

Meanwhile, Robert Alberts, revealed the training program that will be given to his foster children in the first week, to prepare for the 2022-2023 season of Liga 1 competition.

According to the Dutch coach, in the first week of training to prepare for the 2022-2023 Liga 1 competition, his team only received a program with a not too high intensity.

The low-intensity exercise was deliberately given to the foster children, because they had been on vacation for a long time and did not train together. So, Robert Alberts gave the material in stages.

For information, after receiving a holiday after the end of the 2021-2022 Liga 1 competition, Bobotoh’s pride team will return to practice together next week.

“Of course in the first week we will work with a focus on aerobics, but at a low intensity, but also give a lot of playing time,” said Robert Alberts.

The former Makassar PSM coach added that the intensity of the exercise would be gradually increased, so that his foster children would not be surprised when carrying out the program given by him.

During team activities, the majority of players choose to return to their respective hometowns and only carry out independent training to maintain their fitness condition.

“They will love to play football so that will be the main thing in training. We will not train intensively because it will be done during the actual pre-season,” said Persib Bandung coach in Liga 1, Robert Alberts.
