Lower second-tier players, Liverpool punished with goals conceded in the 13th minute

Jurgen Klopp seems to have given up on losing in the Premier League title race after deciding to field his second-tier player in the match at Southampton, last night. The decision was punished by conceding a goal in the 13th minute before Takumi Minamino replied.

The Reds’ starting line-up has just been suffering from exhaustion after 120 minutes of fighting in the FA Cup final three days ago and tonight at Southampton, Klopp decided to make 9 ROTATIONS! Only Ibrahima Konate and Alisson Becker survived the starting XI of the FA Cup final.

It looked like it had a disastrous effect on the team’s balance with them quickly conceding a goal by hosts Southampton with just 12 minutes and 34 seconds into the game with Nathan Redmond dribbling into the box before eyeing the top left corner of Alisson’s net.

It was Redmond’s first goal of the 2021/22 season after providing five assists. But fortunately Liverpool managed to equalize through Takumi Minamino’s goal 14 minutes later with an assist from Diogo Jota.

The Reds are interested in these three points at Saint Mary’s Stadium. A defeat will give Manchester City the crown tonight, even before entering the final day of the season on 22 May 2022.

Klopp shocked the rest of the world by fielding a weaker line-up, with only two players remaining from the starting XI last time out against Chelsea in the FA Cup final. The score was still 1-1 when this news was uploaded at minute 43.

Liverpool XI: Alisson, Tsimikas, Matip, Konate, Gomez, Milner, Jones, Elliott, Minamino, Firmino, Jota. Subs: Kelleher, Robertson, Williams, Thiago, Keita, Henderson, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Diaz, Origi.
