As we all know, Disney+ has had a lot of success with their Marvel series. Since WandaVision premiered in early 2020, series like Loki and Hawkeye has kept fans busy in between major film releases from Marvel Studios. Moon Knight just ended the series earlier this month and fans are gearing up for the release Ms. Marvel in the month of June. Nonetheless, there is another highly anticipated series coming out this year She-Hulk. And now Disney+ has released the official trailer along with the full title reveal, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. The series will premiere on August 17, 2022.
The series will introduce a new Hulk to the world, namely Jennifer Walters, a lawyer by day and a superhero in her spare time,. He mutated into She-Hulk after receiving a blood transfusion from his cousin, Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo). The series also stars Jameela Jamil as She-Hulk’s rival Titania and Tim Roth returning as Emil Blonsky — better known as the villain Abomination. The series is part of Marvel’s Phase Four, which introduces a new lineup of heroes after the Avengers all either died or split up in Avengers: Endgame.
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law described as an Ally McBeal-style legal comedy, it’s a change of tone from the previous Marvel Disney+ series, which mostly focused on the grim state, the end of the world – or at least, serious threats. While the presence of Abomination and Titania is certainly not good news for Jennifer Walters, the idea that she will try to balance her superhero duties with something a little more mundane is an attractive prospect, especially given the series’ She-Hulk comedic tendencies.
The description above fits perfectly with the origins of Jennifer Walter’s comic book version, and will be very interesting to see Tatiana Maslany bring the character to life. It would also be great to see Mark Ruffalo and Tim Roth return to their respective roles. Although Abomination had a brief cameo in Shang-Chi last year, Roth hasn’t had a major role in the MCU since The Incredible Hulk in 2008. Another important part about She-Hulk is that Jameela Jamil plays a villain named Titania. Renée Elise Goldsberry, Josh Segarra, and Ginger Gonzaga also star in the series.
She-Hulk character created by Stan Lee and John Buscema. This character first appeared in comics Savage She-Hulk #1 which was published in February 1980. Like the Hulk, She-Hulk is depicted as a strong woman with the same green skin as the Hulk. She-Hulk have alter-ego named Jennifer Walters who is a lawyer who works in Los Angeles. Jennifer is the daughter of Sheriff William Morris Walters and Elanie Banner. Jennifer got her powers when she received a blood transfusion from Bruce Banner.
The main difference between the two is that Walters is able to retain most of his intelligence, emotional control and personality after he transforms into a full-fledged She-Hulk. As we all know, fans saw Ruffalo’s version of the Hulk finally being able to balance his anger and control in the film Avengers: Endgame, so it will be interesting to learn what kind of dynamics unfolds between the two Hulks in the series. The series is directed by Kat Coiro and Anu Valia, with Jessica Gao as the lead writer.
FYI, in the comic world the figure is She-Hulk been a member of the Avengers, Fantastic Four, Heroes for Hire, the Defenders, Fantastic Force, and SHIELD over the years. Ever since he received his superpowers by accident, he’s still doing his legal profession in comic books, often helping some of his superhero friends out of legal trouble. Marvel Studios hasn’t really divulged any details about what the upcoming Disney+ series will feature.
Although a release date for She-Hulk hasn’t been officially announced yet, this leak has a lot of weight behind it as it was posted on the official Disney+ website. Although all the focus is on Ms. Marvel at the moment, as it’s less than a month away from releasing, but it’s exciting to know that She-Hulk is just around the corner too.
