Barcelona are open to the sale of Frenkie de Jong this summer amid interest from Manchester United and other top European clubs.
Crazy Ball – Barcelona have confirmed that they have received several offers for Frenkie de Jong with Manchester United believed to be among them.
It’s no secret that the Netherlands international midfielder has been the subject of transfers from various top European clubs this summer, with The Red Devils become one of the strongest enthusiasts to secure its services.
Moreover, they have now the arrival of Erik ten Hag, former Frenkie de Jong boss at Ajax Amsterdam, and the club is also in dire need of new midfield players after the departures of Nemanja Matic, Paul Pogba, Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard.
The hardest thing for Manchester United was that they couldn’t offer Champions League football to the 25-year-old, after the club finished sixth in the Premier League table with a poor season under Ralf Rangnick.
Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain have also recently been linked with an interest in Frenkie de Jong, who Barcelona say could be sold if the club offered at least Rp 1.5 trillion, according to his previous purchase price from Ajax.
Talk to L’Esportiu, Barca president Joan Laporta has now confirmed that his side have received an offer for their midfielder, saying, “Frenkie de Jong? Yes, we have received the proposal. But he has great quality, we think he should continue at Barca. Selling players? Right now, of course everything is still open. In this case it will depend a lot on the issue of fair play (financial).”
