Persebaya Surabaya and Arema FC made an extraordinary breakthrough. As part of the initial preparations for the 2022/2023 Liga 1 season, on Sunday (22/5/22).

The Liga 1 team, which is domiciled in East Java, held a friendly match which was attended by spectators.

Persebaya tried out against Persis Solo at the Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium, Surabaya, Sunday afternoon (22/5). The match which started at 16.00 WIB was attended by around 33 thousand spectators.

Meanwhile, at Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang Regency, a friendly match was held between Arema FC versus PSIS Semarang. This match, kick off at 19.00 WIB and was attended by around 30 thousand spectators.

The two test matches went smoothly. In fact, a fairly high interest was shown by the audience in the two stadiums.

The President Director of PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB), Akhmad Hadian Lukita gave a positive appreciation to the management of Persebaya and Arema FC.

“Thank you Persebaya and Arema FC. After about two years of absence, the two teams were able to hold a test match that was able to answer the public’s longing to come to the stadium,” said Akhmad Hadian Lukita.

Lukita realized that what Persebaya and Arema were doing was not easy. However, they were considered successful in holding a test match with an audience.

“It’s definitely not easy. It takes careful planning, detail and good coordination with all parties,” explained Akhmad Hadian Lukita, Tuesday (24/5/22).

Furthermore, the man who likes formula one added that what the management of Persebaya and Arema FC showed was very helpful in the plans of PT LIB.

As is known, PSSI and PT LIB have planned to hold a Liga 1 competition for the 2022/2023 season under normal conditions.

“We will return the competition to how it used to be. The next League 1 competition will be held with spectators in the stadium. Of course, by adjusting to the advice of the government.”

The success of holding a match with spectators like what Persebaya and Arema FC did, hopefully other teams can soon follow suit,” concluded Akhmad Hadian Lukita.
