Coinciding with the 76th anniversary of the City of Solo, on Thursday, June 16 2016, the Mayor of Solo, Gibran Rakabuming Raka inaugurated and introduced the bus low deck friendly for passengers with special needs. Solo is one of the cities appointed as the first city for the operation of disabled friendly buses. This bus underwent a trial period of one month.

Hari Prihatno explained that this disabled-friendly bus would be more comfortable to use by passengers with special needs, because the bus low deck has a capacity of 15 passenger seats designed specifically for people with special needs.

“We hope that once again, this will become a standard prototype for use by friends with disabilities and mass public transportation that the public might like.” he said.

This bus operation will also be adjusted to the BST travel schedule, from morning to night.

“The operation is the same as BST. So once again, the bus was only for testing the prototype made by Adi Putro, Solo happened to be the place for testing. And we are lucky because Solo is considered a disabled-friendly city.” continued Hari.

Prepare Disabled-Friendly Buses to Support the 2022 ASEAN Para Games

This disabled-friendly bus was prepared by the Solo City Government to support the 2022 ASEAN Para Games which will be held in Solo City from 30 June 2022 to 6 July 2022.

Launch site Suarasurakarta.id, Hari Prihatno stated that the Solo City Government would prepare 65 buses low deck for the event.

“There are about 130 buses for the ASEAN Para Games event in Solo. That number consists of 65 disabled service buses, and 65 buses for the transportation of athletes.” Obviously Prihatno Day.

According to Gibran Rakabuming Raka, the Mayor of Solo, the bus is low deck This is very suitable for use in urban areas.
