1NEWS, PSS Sleman will meet Persib Bandung in the last eight of the 2022 Presidential Cup. Seto Nurdiyantoro as the coach, said that his team will use the match as an opportunity to learn.

PSS itself qualified for the quarter-finals with the status of runner-up in Group A, while Persib was the winner of Group C.

The squad nicknamed the Java Super Eagle Warriors just confirmed their ticket to the quarter-finals after winning 1-0 over Dewa United in the match at the Manahan Stadium, Solo, Monday (27/6).

The Portuguese player, Ze Valente, became a hero with his only goal in the 72nd minute.

Qualifying for the quarter-finals, PSS had to shift to Bandung to fight Persib. Both teams are scheduled to compete in Bandung this weekend.

“We play on the 1st or 2nd (July). This means that preparation is fairly tight,” explained PSS Sleman coach, Seto Nurdiyantoro, as quoted from Indosport.

“We still need to travel quite a distance to Bandung, which means recovery needs to be considered again because it is very short.”

He hopes the players can understand this condition so that they can prepare for the existing schedule. According to Seto, this condition is a learning experience for his team and hopefully an evaluation for the organizers.

“Hopefully the match (against Persib) will be pleasant to watch with the condition of the players whose fitness is better. This player recovery problem is indeed a separate note. But whatever it is, we have to enjoy it,” said Seto.
