Crazybola.com – Who said crisis? Barcelona is now even able to get an investment income of almost IDR 10 trillion which will greatly ease the financial burden that has accumulated in the Catalans, and this news can send Real Madrid into a spasm!
Of that nearly IDR 10 trillion, IDR 4.16 trillion was already in the pocket when Barcelona announced that they had reached an agreement to sell 10 percent of their La Liga broadcasting rights to global investment firm Sixth Street Partners.
Members at Camp Nou voted at the EGMS on June 16 to sell 25 percent of the broadcasting rights to one or more investors, and now 10 percent of that has been sold, but it’s not yet known how much they will earn if they sell the remaining 15 percent to other investors.
In addition to the sale of broadcast rights, Barcelona is also preparing to sell 49.9 percent of Barca Licensing and Merchandising (BLM), with the sale of the two sales subjects planned to bring in almost Rp 10 trillion, or Rp 9.34 trillion to be precise.
Of course it will give a big boost to Blaugrana in the midst of their financial troubles, with that income not only offset the minus value on their balance sheet, it could also mean vital importance in trying to keep the squad from being sold and even to bring in new players.
The Barcelona president announced, “We are activating the economic lever and executing our patient, sustainable and efficient strategy to strengthen the club’s financial footing. Sixth Street is a proven football supporter, a seasoned investor across sport and global media, and a partner who will contribute significant knowledge and resources while enabling us to independently manage our operations.”
