Jokowi’s government once again held reshuffle minister and deputy minister. Previously in December 2020, two ministers of the Indonesian Cabinet Volume 2 stumbled upon a case. The two ministers are the inactive Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Edhy Prabowo and the inactive Minister of Social Affairs Juliari Peter Batubara. Edhy Prabowo’s position was replaced by Tri Risma, while Juliari Batubara was replaced by Sakti Wahyu Trenggono.

Then in April 2021, Jokowi appointed Bahlil Lahadalia as Minister of Investment and Nadiem Makarim as Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Mendikbud Ristek). Now, Jokowi has again reshuffled his ministerial composition. The following is a complete list of the ministers who were removed and the new ministers.

Ministers and deputy ministers who have stepped down

Muhammad Lutfi was removed from his position as Minister of Trade. According to Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, the replacement of the Minister of Trade is a refreshing step to make the ministry more agile. When asked about the cooking oil case, Pramono said that this was not a single ministry issue. Meanwhile, Luthfi underwent an examination by the Attorney General’s Office on Wednesday (22/6/2022) regarding the alleged export corruption case crude palm oil or cooking oil raw materials.

Apart from Luthfi, Sofyan Djalil as Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning or Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) and his deputy, Surya Tjandra, were also replaced. There are at least two main problems related to land, namely the distribution of land certificates to the people of Indonesia which has not been evenly distributed and the problem of the land mafia that never ends.

The deputy minister for ATR/BPN is the Secretary General of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Raja Juli Antoni. In addition, there are two other new deputy ministers. They are John Wempi Wetipo as Deputy Minister of Home Affairs and Secretary General of the Crescent Star Party (PBB) Afriansyah Ferry Noor as Deputy Minister of Manpower.

Former minister stumbled on corruption case

Edhy Prabowo, who at that time served as Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, was involved in a corruption case in the export of lobster seeds. He was proven to have received bribes of around Rp. 25 billion from a number of parties, including exporters related to lobster cultivation and the export of lobster fry seeds. Edhy was sentenced to 5 years in prison, a fine of IDR 400 million in lieu of 6 months in prison, and a replacement money of IDR 9.68 billion in lieu of 2 years in prison. Edhy’s political rights were also revoked for 3 years, starting from the time he finished serving his main prison term.
