Three new players from Bali United received praise after performing well in the 2022 President’s Cup and 2022 AFC Cup. Who are these players?

Laskar Serdadu Tridatu managed to recruit six players. Muhammad Ridho (ex-Madura United), Jajang Mulyana (ex-Bhayangkara FC, Ramdani Lestaluhu (ex-Persija Jakarta), Ardi Idrus (ex-Persib Bandung), Novri Setiawan (ex-Persija Jakarta), and Hendra Adi Bayauw (ex-Persikabo 1973).

Three successful players have been in the spotlight because of their slick performances when they defended Bali United in two competitions, the President’s Cup and the AFC Cup this year.

Ridho, Jajang Mulyana, and Novri Setiawan are considered to have contributed positively to the performance of ‘Serdadu Tridatu’ and seem to be quick to adapt so that they look cohesive with Stefano Cugurra Teco’s playing scheme.

Ridho recorded two appearances in the President’s Cup and one appearance in the AFC Cup. As long as he is trusted to work in goal, the owner of the number 88 jersey is able to make a number of crucial saves.

Ridho’s skills were proven when he made four important saves for Bali United against Persib during the President’s Cup group stage on 12 June 2022. Ridho also kept one clean sheet in the AFC Cup. At Madura United, Ridho managed to make a total of 48 appearances while defending Madura United throughout the 2019/2020 season until the 2021/2022 season.

Novri Setiawan has scored two goals from two appearances during the 2022 President’s Cup tournament. He scored against Persib and Bhayangkara FC. While defending Persija from 2015/2016 until the 2021/2022 season, Novri managed to appear 136 times in all competitions and scored 11 goals and 10 assists.

Jajang Mulyana became Bali United’s hero when he met Kaya FC Iloilo on June 30, 2022. In the final match of the 2022 AFC Cup Group G preliminary round, his header in the 25th minute brought Serdadu Tridatu a narrow 1-0 win over the Filipino representative. It is known, when defending Bhayangkara FC, Jajang Mulyana managed to appear 78 times in all competitions by scoring three goals and 4 assists.

Seeing the performance shown by a number of his new players, Bali United coach Stefano Cugurra said he would return to work hard to face the busy schedule that awaits Bali United.

“We will return to work hard during training in preparation to be able to perform well in Liga 1. After that, we are just waiting for the exact schedule to play,” explained Coach Teco, quoted from the club’s official website.
