Jokowi: The Russo-Ukrainian War Affects the Economy of All Countries in the World

1NEWS, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) reminded that currently all countries are not in a safe position. This was mentioned by Jokowi because of the war that took place between Russia and Ukraine which made the current situation even more difficult.

The Head of State also assessed that currently all countries in the world are in an insecure position.

“Right now, all countries are not in a safe position. Be careful about this,” said Jokowi while giving a briefing at the Peak of the 29th National Family Day Commemoration in Medan which was broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube, Thursday (7 / 7). 7/2022).

Then, Jokowi also mentioned that for the past two years, Indonesia has faced the Covid-19 pandemic, which has not yet ended. Other countries are still grappling with the problem of a spike in Covid-19 cases.

“Other countries still have a high number of Covid-19 cases, thank God, even though they are still in a low position, it is all of us to control it,” he said.

Jokowi also asked the entire community to remain vigilant so as not to increase the number of Covid-19 cases in Indonesia. The president is of the opinion that if the pandemic can be controlled, then the acceleration of economic recovery can be easier to do.

In addition to the Covid-19 pandemic, the obstacles to economic recovery are compounded by the war in Ukraine. Jokowi asked the public not to underestimate the impact of the war.

“Be careful about the Ukraine war because it is about food and energy, food, oil and gas which will affect all countries in the world,” he added.

Apart from that, on the other hand, economist observers also said that the economic recovery in Indonesia itself is still not evenly distributed by all sectors of the economy.
