Crazy Ball – Bernardo Silva’s transfer to Barcelona is getting closer to reality as club president Joan Laporta is reported to have met with agent Jorge Mendes to discuss the availability of the Manchester City midfielder in this summer’s transfer window.
The Portugal international midfielder is a key target for manager Xavi Hernandez to strengthen his midfield next season and partnering him with promising club star Pedri to revive tiki-taka tactics at Camp Nou.
Even the signing of Bernardo Silva makes Barcelona willing to sell Frenkie de Jong, who has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United while recently Chelsea have also been interested in the Netherlands international.
Now according to the news released by the Spanish media Mundo Deportivopresident Blaugrana Joan Laporta summoned Jorge Mendes to his home on 4 July to discuss a possible transfer of the Manchester City star.
Reports further state that the Portuguese agent is determined to bring Bernardo Silva to Camp Nou and the 27-year-old midfielder is also open to a potential move to Barcelona this summer.
Discussions also included Frenkie de Jong with the Catalan giants hoping that their transfer progress for the Portugal international midfielder could improve if the club sold the Netherlands international to Manchester United or Chelsea for around IDR 1.2 trillion, although the 25-year-old is reportedly unwilling to sell and want to stay at the club.
Actually, the main problem lies in the price of Bernardo Silva, who is still under contract until June 2025 at the Etihad. It is said that Manchester City are selling their valuable assets worth more than Rp. 1.5 trillion, which may be very burdensome for Barcelona.
