Arema FC midfielder, Evan Dimas Darmono admits that he is increasingly enjoying the support of his fanatical supporters, namely Aremania. The player from Surabaya even wants to repay Aremania’s loyalty with an achievement this season.
Evan’s closest proof was when he hosted PSIS Semarang at the Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang on Saturday, July 30, 2022. After losing the inaugural Liga 1 match, Evan wanted to give Arema his first win in front of the Malang public.
Evan even admitted that he was not burdened at all by Aremania’s demands to win after losing to Borneo FC last week. Instead, he was motivated and challenged to give Singo Edan a win.
“If it depends on our thoughts, if the supporters become a burden for us, it will bring down our mentality. But if the supporters in our minds become motivation, then we will be motivated,” said Evan, Friday, July 29, 2022.
“I think I personally have no pressure. And I am even more pleased with Aremania and Aremanita’s motivation. I enjoy it, and it becomes a positive synergy for the Arema team,” he added.
Meanwhile, Arema FC coach, Eduardo Almeida demanded his players to play totally in order to win. He doesn’t want to worry about ball possession statistics or attacks on the opponent’s goal. For him, Arema players must score goals and win.
“So our possession is superior, our accuracy is superior, but football is about winning. While many people said Arema’s possession of the ball was lacking, they won. So the important thing for me is to win football,” said Eduardo. (Viva)
